An Army National Guard member is in custody after being accused of molesting a young girl.

23-year-old Brendon Singer is in custody in Sandoval County, charged with criminal sexual contact of a minor.

Singer reportedly touched a girl who was under the age of twelve.

The girl's mother, who did not want to be identified, has multiple sclerosis. She said Singer was her caretaker, which is how he got so close to her daughter.

She said the molestation of her daughter went on for years without her ever knowing.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 has learned Singer currently works as security for Albuquerque Job Corps, an organization that gives job training to people as young as 16-years-old.

KOB's calls to Albuquerque Job Corps went unreturned on Monday.

KOB did confirm Singer has been a member of the Army National Guard since 2011.
