The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team and first year head coach Craig Neal are in  Las Vegas for the Mountain West Conference Tournament this week.  The Lobos will take the floor at the Thomas & Mack Center on Thursday night against Fresno State.  Neal’s predecessor and  former boss is also making an appearance in Las Vegas, but in different colors.

Former Lobo basketball coach Steve Alford brought his UCLA squad to Sin City for the Pac 12 Tournament.  The Bruins will play Oregon on Thursday.

Alford spoke with our Lobo Insider Lee Faria and the Bruins head coach admits he still keeps tabs on the Cherry and Silver.

“Even during our games I’m tracking and following them,” said Alford.  “Those are my guys.  That coaching staff means a great deal to me and it’s been a lot of fun watching their success.”
