The mother of an Amber Alert victim is pleading for her daughter's safe return home.

Albuquerque police believe 14-year-old Lacey DeWent may be with 26-year-old Robert Butler--a man she met online. Lacey went missing on Monday after she didn't show up for school.

Her mom, Jessica DeWent, says Lacey and Butler tried to be in a relationship for about a year. She says Butler was even arrested for being in contact with her daughter.

Police believe Lacey and Butler are headed to Florida or New Jersey, where he has family. Her family is worried she may be in danger.

"Heartbreaking... You don't want to see your child's face on the news for this situation at all," Jessica DeWent said.

The pair may be driving a blue Subaru Crosstrek or a similar vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to contact (505)-768-2450.
