The Torrance County manager charged with fraud and conspiracy pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court on Friday.

A KOB 4 On Your Side investigation exposed how the New Mexico Attorney General's Office accused Joy Ansley of funneling building contracts to one vendor, Chris Valdez.

The attorney general claims Ansley approved contract changes for Valdez that allowed him to overcharge the county by tens of thousands of dollars.

Valdez also pleaded not guilty in court today. The pair was released on their own recognizance after the hearing.

Ansley remains on the job maintaining the county budget.
