New Mexico State Police are investigating a suspicious death at the Eastern New Mexico University campus in Roswell.

Early Tuesday, a state police official said the report came in as a shooting, but NMSP's press release on the incident now calls it a "suspicious death."

Around 9 p.m., state police officers were dispatched to 52 University Boulevard on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a man dead inside a dormitory.

The victim was transported to the Office of the Medical Investigators Office in Albuquerque to determine the cause and manner of death.

Two men in the dorm were detained and are being interviewed by state police agents.

This investigation is ongoing.
