Community members have set up a benefit account for a high school senior and amateur cyclist who was hit by a car while riding his bike last Thursday.

Earl Gage suffered severe injuries to his head, a broken jaw, broken ribs and a broken femur. He required immediate surgery at UNM Hospital for his brain and will receive more surgeries as he stabilizes.

According to a bicycle team's Facebook page, Gage should be graduating from high school in May and he will need assistance with rehabilitation for a full healthy recovery.

Contributions can be made to the Earl Gage benefit account at Wells Fargo:
Account # 2784529238
ACH Routing # 107002192
