A suspect in an Espanola shootout that injured a three-year-old girl remains on the run Friday.

Police officials said 19-year-old Dylan Vigil and 20-year-old Mackie Roybal shot at each other last week in Espanola's Walmart parking lot.

A stray bullet hit a child in the leg while she was leaving the store with her father. Police said the bullet was centimeters away from hitting a major artery.

Police arrested Vigil, but Roybal remains on the loose. He was expected to turn himself in on Thursday, but detective Solomon Romero told KOB he never did. Officers also went to Roybal's house several times, but he was not there.

Investigators said Roybal and Vigil have an ongoing dispute going back to middle school.

Mackie Roybal, 20, remains on the run after a shootout in Espanola.
Police arrested Dylan Vigil, a suspect in the Espanola shootout.
