Investigators do not believe foul play was involved in the death of a woman who disappeared nearly two years ago based on new evidence found on a cellphone.

Brenda Salas disappeared from Rio Rancho in June 2012 after a fight with her boyfriend.

She was last seen at the Walmart on Unser near Southern. Police found her vehicle shortly after, but no sign of her.

On Easter Sunday, a family walking on a mesa northwest of Rio Rancho discovered human bones.

The Sandoval County Sheriff's Department believes what they found could be Salas' remains. Deputies now think she drove out into the desert and got lost.

Investigators say it appears that she tried to call 911, but had no cell service. They also discovered a video on the phone where a woman talks about her relationship with her boyfriend.

Investigators are waiting for DNA or dental records for positive identification.
