Day one of the state golf tournament ended with Academy positioned for a possible 4A boys team title at the UNM Championship Course.

Academy's Ben Albin is tied for the lead after shooting a 72. Kirtland Central's Tristin Goodwin also fired a 72 today.

On the 4A girls' side, Deming has a 13 shot lead after one round. They're going for six state titles in a row.

In Socorro, Hobbs and Clevaland are the leaders of the 5A boys tournament. La Cueva and Hobbs are your leaders--both up by just two shots--for the 5A girls.

The small schools are playing in Las Cruces, where the girls' team title is up for grabs. For the boys, Hope Chirstian's Sean Carlon has a seven shot lead.
