New Mexicans may have a hard time believing it's May after waking up to snow on the ground.
Up to eight inches of snow fell in areas across Taos, Red River and Eagle Nest. The East Mountains also saw a light dusting of snow on Tuesday morning.
Many residents said they gladly welcomed any type of moisture on the ground.
"I love it, even in May, I'll take a little bit of snow," Tera Dick said.
By late morning, the snow seemed to be dying off, but the chilling winds remained.
Still, the cold isn't here to stay--Meteorologists say a dramatic warm up is in store for the end of the week.
