A 2-year-old boy died Friday night after he wandered in to a Roswell street unsupervised.
“We have a 2-year-old little boy that was either hit by a car and left in the street," said a caller to police.
And according to Roswell police, that 2-year-old was discovered by his 5-year-old sister after the mother sent her outside to look for him.
The toddler was laying in the street bleeding.
Police say his mother rushed him to the hospital, but it was too late to save him.
Exactly what happened in the street is still unclear.
"She doesn't know if he was hit by a car or if he was attacked, she’s not too sure," said a caller to police.
Police say they’ll have to wait for the autopsy report for those answers.
In the meantime, questions have surrounded the boy’s mother for some time.
A neighbor tells KOB Eyewitness News 4 she has seen the child playing unsupervised in the road many times before.
“Every single time that I went out there, the parents were just not really there,” said Julie Ambrosia Summers. “I mean the kids were mainly playing you know by themselves. I was worried that this was going to happen, and I am really saddened about this accident."
It is not clear if the mother will be charged.
So far police don’t have any suspects.
