After a while you start to finish each other's sentences.
"High school," said Sally Kight when asked how she met her husband.
"We went to school together," chimed in her husband, JB.
Sally finished, "in Pima, Arizona."
And that's how a love story, 70 years in the making, started.
"We saw each other the whole time we was going to school together. I was a senior, she was a sophomore," JB explained.
And since then only once have JB and Sally Kight been apart.
"He was in the army when we got married," Sally explained, "They let him come home for a week before they sent him overseas, and then I didn't see you for how long?"
"20 months," said JB.
"20 months," Sally confirmed.
Now in their golden years, Sally is 88 and JB is 91. They took a little time on Sunday to celebrate with family and friends and tell everyone about their secret cookie recipe.
"I take a box of cake mix and start mixing it and she goes and throws stuff in and when it looks like it's ready then we put it in the oven," JB explained.
But the real recipe for love?
"I have no idea," JB laughs, "She's going to have to tell you what that was."
Well, we will leave it to Sally. She laughs in turn, "I don't know what it was, we just got along."
And even after 70 years, they still get along.
When asked if one ever gets tired of being around the other, JB was quick to answer, "Well I'm sure she does, but she don't tell me."
A recipe for love that Sally won't take all the credit for.
"I think we are lucky and good at it."
