Fatal crash involving stolen motorcycle closes Jefferson

Jefferson has reopened following a fatal vehicle crash involving a stolen motorcycle. 

According to Albuquerque police, the male subject driving the stolen motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Jefferson near Osuna when he hit the center median. The subject was thrown from the motorcycle and struck by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle called 911 and remained on scene.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor.

Both drivers’ names have not been released at this time. No charges are expected against the driver of the vehicle.
