Roswell police on Friday arrested a man in connection to the abduction and alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl.

Carmen Pichilla is charged with kidnapping, criminal sexual penetration, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child abuse.

On the night of June 4, police said a 15-year-old girl was walking in the area of Southeast Main Street and Buena Vista when a male suspect, later identified by RPD as Pichilla, coaxed her to a van.

When she was close enough, police said Pichilla forced her into the van, got her drunk and drugged and then sexually assaulted her.

The girl was later able to get away.

Pichilla is being held at the Chavez County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
