Santa Fe police have identified the bicyclist killed in a collision with the Rail Runner on Monday.

Joseph Salazar, 41, was struck by the train while he crossed the tracks on St. Michaels Drive west of Calle Lorca.

Salazar has an Espanola address, but police said he may have been living in Santa Fe or a frequent visitor to the area.

Police are still investigating the accident. They say Salazar was not wearing a helmet or headphones during the crash.

The arms, bells and signals for the Rail Runner train were all operational at the time of the collision.
