A newspaper report claims the young dog-attack victim who was asked to leave a KFC restaurant because her appearance disturbed other customers is a hoax.

A source close to the investigation told the Laurel Leader-Call that security camera footage at two of the KFC chains in Jackson, Mississippi, show 3-year-old Victoria Wilcher, who was mauled by pit bulls, was never in the restaurant on the day her grandmother claimed the incident happened.

The paper also reports that Wilcher's family changed their story about the location when speaking to the media.

After Wilcher's grandmother posted about the incident on Facebook, the family reportedly received more than $100,000 in donations from people across the nation.

The KFC franchise owner would not comment on the report due to the ongoing investigation.
