Lawmakers will again take up the hot topic Wednesday of thousands of unaccompanied child immigrants making their way into the U.S.

They're working on a plan to deal with the recent influx at the border. This, as hundreds of illegal immigrants make their way to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia.

The immigrants are expected to stay in Artesia until they're deported.

Portable buildings have been set up to house around 700 people. The groups are being moved there from overflowing patrol housing facilities in Texas.

Officials said they're trying to escape drug violence in Central America.

The Department of Homeland Security said they picked Artesia because it was cost effective.
