She lives in the Paradise Hills neighborhood, but an Albuquerque woman tells us the newly paved roads are more like a nightmare. Impatient drivers hitting those streets too soon could be to blame. You can tell just by looking at the well-kept homes, that there's a lot of pride in this neighborhood.
Darla Hallmark has lived in the paradise hills area for 12 years and has had no complaints, until now.
A little more than a week ago, crews were out, repaving the streets. She had no problem with that, but with what started to happen after the job was done.
“You expect a street to be solid and consistent,” said Darla. “We had nice streets now they expect us to drive on this.”
She says it doesn't just make the neighborhood look badly. It can be dangerous for bicycle and motorcycle riders, like her husband.
Darla says she loves this neighborhood, but she's upset and wants it fixed.
“It's like if you're gonna come pave the street and give us all this hassle of having to get out of the way, it'd be nice if the result of that was a good street,” stated Darla.
A county spokesperson says an inspector will check the streets there tomorrow.
