FBI releases photos of Albuquerque bank robber

The FBI and Albuquerque police are asking for the public's help in catching a man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank branch inside a northeast Albuquerque Smith's grocery store.

The incident took place at 3701 Constitution Ave. NE on Friday.

Witnesses told police the man entered the bank at approximately 1 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect.

The FBI describes the suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 50 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 165 pounds. He wore sunglasses, a gray sweatshirt, a dark baseball cap and dark pants at the time of the incident.

The suspect left the bank with an accomplice in a silver four-door sedan.

Anyone with information about this bank robbery is asked to call the Albuquerque FBI Office at (505) 889-1300 or Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers at (505)-843-STOP.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction.
