Lightning sparks another wildfire in northern NM

A new wildfire is burning more than 15 acres near the Bear Springs Mountain southeast of Jemez Springs, New Mexico.

According to fire officials, the wildfire was reported by air attack while conducting a flight around 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Officials believe lightning sparked the fire.

The location of the Bear Springs Fire is four miles southeast of Paliza Campground on the Jemez Ranger District. 

The fire is burning in heavy fuels, ponderosa pine and juniper.
