An Albuquerque man is facing several charges after his gun ended up in the hands of a 5-year-old on Monday.
Police said they were looking for Gregory Grauf after he pointed a gun at his girlfriend and threatened to kill her. Grauf also reportedly set his car on fire in her backyard.
Officers found Grauf at his friend's home on Kinley near 4th Street and Mountain. Grauf tried to hide his gun, but his friend's son found it and accidentally fired a shot.
Two young children were nearby, but no one was hurt.
Grauf was booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and four counts of child abuse.
