Hobbs police have charged an Arizona man with killing a mother and child in a crash on Friday.

The multi-vehicle crash took place on the Lovington Highway near Jack Gomez Boulevard. Priscillia Mungia of Hobbs and her 6-year-old child were killed in a head-on collision with 27-year-old Keevisen James Gould of Red Valley, Arizona.

The passenger in Gould's car, 34-year-old Shane Betselie, was seriously injured.

Gould was arrested on two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of great bodily harm by motor vehicle. He was booked into the Hobbs City Jail on a $40,000 bond.

Police say they are testing a sample of Gould's blood to determine whether he was drunk at the time of the crash.

Keevisen James Gould is facing charges of vehicular homicide and great bodily harm by motor vehicle.
