FARMINGTON, N.M. – A 26-year-old Crownpoint man is behind bars in connection to a burglary after he left his cell phone behind at the crime scene.

Farmington police arrested Terrison Shorty last Wednesday after determining the cell phone belonged to him.

On June 27, employees of Basin Home Health reported that multiple electronic devices were missing from the business. Officers took a phone left at the scene into evidence and obtained a search warrant.

Police said information on the phone and an anonymous tip led detectives to Shorty. He was arrested and charged with commercial burglary, larceny, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property.
