Officials broke ground in Bloomfield for a new Wagner CAT facility.
“This is a really good spot for us to be,” said Bruce Wagner, Owner of Wagner CAT.
The new sales, service and parts facility is good news for the local economy.
“We think it will be sustainable for quite a while and when we go to hire employees we work very hard at trying to hire local people as we add to our staff,” Wagner said.
Officials with the city of Bloomfield say their goal is to accommodate businesses that want to move there.
“That’s what we are all about is growing our economy and creating jobs,” said Mayor Scott Eckstein.
The dealership is expected to bring in up to 100 new jobs and anchor the Animas Industrial Park, which may soon start to fill up, thanks to some hard work by the City of Bloomfield.
“We want to help cut the government red tape,” said the mayor.
Bruce Wagner agreed. “They aren't putting up road blocks to make it difficult to build this facility and are working with us as opposed to against us and we really appreciate that.”
The facility is expected to open in about 18 months.
