Last week the Lobos released their schedule for the upcoming men's basketball season. The big thing that jumps out to me is that the conference season dominates the slate so much that head coach Craig Neal only had to find 12-non conference games and 3 of those are in the Puerto Rico Tip Off Classic. In looking at the non-conference games, the Lobos will get their toughest test against the Aggies. It reminds me of the schedules that Dave Bliss used to put together. The difference in this year schedule is that the MWC will be a slugfest. 6, maybe 7, teams will have a chance to see post season play, and as many as 4 or 5 could go to the big dance. If you are wondering about RPI numbers, the Lobos will have to build their resume in the conference season. Last year the Lobos were hurt by a weak conference. This coming season the conference should help the Lobos.
