Albuquerque police continue to search for Marcos Delgado, wanted for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend and wounding three other women at an auto detail shop in the Northeast heights Friday afternoon.
On Monday police obtained a warrant and searched Delgado's black Charger, believed to be the car he was in when he opened fire on Anna Vigil in her car in front of the business on Vassar just north of Candelaria.
Police say Delgado is armed and "extremely" dangerous, so if you see him do not approach him – call 911 instead. He has a long history of drug and domestic violence arrests, including one conviction for narcotics possession. APD detectives are getting plenty of help as they broaden their search for the fugitive.
"Bernalillo County Sherriff's Office is helping us, along with several federal agencies," said Officer Tanner Tixier of APD. "Homeland Security, US Marshals, the FBI – we're all helping each other to find this guy."
Delgado is from Juarez – could he be hiding pout south of the border?
"It's always a possibility," Tixier said. "However you need to understand we have a good working relationship with the Mexican authorities. If this guy is eventually found in Mexico, we have no doubt that we will be able to get him back."
Delgado faces an open charge of murder and several other felony counts for the Friday shooting spree. One thing's for sure – he's a big man – 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 285 pounds.
