The high school football season is less than 3 weeks away. Atrisco Heritage Academy could be the team to beat in District 5 Class 6A. The jaguars return four of their five starting linemen and quarterback Aaron Bean saw action behind center in six games last season.

"He's more of an option quarterback than our previous quarterbacks,” said head coach Patrick Johnson. “We moved him in and he did a great job, and runs the option well."

Bean is comfortable with his role as the starting quarterback.

"I consider myself a dual threat quarterback,” said Bean. “My arm has improved a lot since last year. I can throw the ball now better than last year."
