Anna Vigil's family is speaking out for the first time since her murder last Friday. Police said Vigil's ex-boyfriend, Marcos Delgado, shot her and three other women in a fit of jealous rage.

They were no longer dating, but Delgado and Vigil had a 5-year-old son together. They were planning to register him for school Friday. But all that changed when, according to court documents, Delgado "just lost it."

Family members said Vigil was a loving, caring and generous person whose life revolved around her young son.

"She was funny, she was outgoing and she loved hanging out with her son," said her brother, Rickey Vigil. "She would take him to the movies."

Vigil's family shared a picture of her son, Antonio, with KOB.

He now has to grow up without a mother or father.

"He needs to know that his mom loved him regardless," said Rickey Vigil. "His dad loved him. His dad did love him. And he was a good dad. And I ask that peace be involved with everyone that was in this situation."

Delgado shot and killed himself after a 4-day manhunt.

"It's just like out of rage and anger," said Vigil. "I never thought anyone would have it in them to be that cruel and mean and take somebody that was so loved."

Vigil's family is now facing unimaginable challenges. They're planning a funeral and trying to raise a little boy who just lost both of his parents.

"It shocks me because I would never expect for my sister to go that way," said Vigil. "It's just heartbreaking."

Vigil's family is now taking donations to help pay for her funeral and to support her son.

"We know she's looking over us, and we just thank for all the blessings and everybody that cares and shows us support.  We do appreciate it.  It does mean a lot to us," Vigil said.

You can donate at any Bank of the West branch in Anna Vigil's name.
