New Mexico State has gone through fourteen days of fall workouts so far.
"Legendary is not the word I would use to describe the Aggies last season. They won two games, and one of those was against Abilene Christian. But if a positive attitude means anything, these guys have got it," NMSU head coach Doug Martin said.
Things are positive because they're seeing things that are actually being done. Things are actually being changed with the facilities and the talent level that's come in here.
"We've put in a lot of work and our expectations are just like every other team, to get to a bowl game. We're working really hard for that and I think we got the team to do it this year," quarterback Tyler Rogers said.
The Aggies will play in the Sun Belt Conference this year, and it's a big deal to the players and the head coach. They say it gives them a goal.
"I think it's a tremendous advantage for us to be in a conference because being an independent there's no conference championship. You're just playing games. But being in a conference you have a set goal you work towards," defensive end Clint Barnard told KOB.
The Aggies are pointing to two big games this year - one against UTEP, but for the New Mexico kids it's all about beating the UNM Lobos.
That game will take place September 20 at Aggie Memorial Stadium in Las Cruces.
