La Cueva High School was evacuated after school ended Thursday when a bomb threat was sent via email to the school's principal. Around 150 students participating in after-school activities were sent home immediately, along with staff.
"All is well at LCHS but investigation continues," La Cueva High School Principal Dana Richardson said on Twitter. "Campus closed for the night. All belongings will be secured for retrieval in the morning."
Albuquerque Public Schools said parents of students at La Cueva can pick students up at the United Methodist Church nearby.
All after-school activities, including YAFL, have been cancelled for the remainder of the day.
APS said all people inside the school were evacuated, and no one was allowed back inside the school.
APS said the campus was being searched by Albuquerque police and APS police, and that students who left personal items in the school would be allowed to retrieve them later.
