ALBUQUERQUE -- Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies on Friday arrested a man and a woman, Samir Rodriguez and 21-year-old Frankie Esquibel, in connection to the murder of a 20-year-old man at a South Valley gas station earlier this week.

The two have been charged with an open count of murder

Two other people were brought into police custody earlier Friday, though they have yet to be charged.

Kenneth Perez's body was found early Tuesday at the Allsup's gas station on Coors Boulevard near Blake Road SW.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office said Perez was shot and killed during a fight. Investigators called the incident a "violent trauma death."

BCSO is currently interviewing the four subjects. Sgt. Aaron Williamson said he expects charges to be filed later Friday.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the four individuals had been arrested. BCSO says charges are pending at this time.
