Kayla is thrilled to work in the city she loves as a General Assignment Reporter at Eyewitness News 4.
Kayla joins KOB from Idaho Falls, Idaho where she worked as a reporter and anchor at KIDK-TV and received a first place award for excellence in newscast from the Idaho Press Club. She started as a reporter and quickly moved to anchoring and forecasting for the morning and noon shows. She loved waking up early in the morning hours to share the news of the day with people at home.
Kayla was born in Colorado and moved to Albuquerque when she was seven. She has family scattered across North Carolina, Colorado and New Mexico. Kayla is proud to be a Manzano Monarch and UNM alumnus. She graduated from UNM in 2005 with a double major in journalism and Spanish.
Kayla's happy to be back in the Land of Enchantment. She enjoys the beauty of the Sandia Mountains, the culture of New Mexico and the city life of Albuquerque. For a retreat, she ventures to the East Mountains for time with her Mom. She also loves being just a short drive away from the rest of her family. Kayla enjoys cooking, eating anything with green chile, being with friends and cuddling with her dog, Dexter.
