Shar Spalding
Shar Spalding is a meteorologist for KOB Eyewitness News 4 at Noon. A Native of New Mexico, Shar graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's degree in journalism.
Shar provides weekend weather forecasts on Eyewitness News 4.
Shar began her career both forecasting and reporting for KDBC-TV in Lubbock on the plains of West Texas.
It was in Lubbock, in "tornado alley," that Shar became fascinated with the broad range of effects of severe weather and developed an interest in understanding it and attempting to anticipate it.
She was excited to return to New Mexico to use those skills on the vast terrain found throughout the state.
Shar is a currently an AMS seal holder and a member of the National Weather Society.
Shar and her husband Brad have two small girls. She enjoys hiking with her husband and children, photographing New Mexico's remarkable scenery, traveling and spending time with her friends.
