ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Parole Board has set conditions for the release next month of a man convicted in one of New Mexico’s most notorious drunken driving cases.
Gordon House of Thoreau was convicted of four counts of vehicular homicide and other charges in a 1992 Christmas Eve head-on collision that killed a mother and her three young daughters and severely injured her husband.
Time off for good behavior means House will be released in March after serving nearly half of his 22-year sentence.
His parole period will last two years. He will have to use an ignition interlock on any vehicle that he drives and his alcohol consumption will be carefully monitored.
Parole board executive director Ella Frank says the conditions will be finalized before House’s release next month.
