Albuquerque police hope 17 billboards that went up in Albuquerque Wednesday will help find the person responsible for the tragedies on the West Mesa.
The billboards display the seven identified victims found buried on the West Mesa.
Clear Channel is donating the space on the 17 billboards, which is worth about $15,000
A 17-year-old high school student who is interning with the company came up with the idea for her senior project.
“The 'No child should be forgotten' thing was just kind of an idea we threw around. The whole idea: To make sure people remember these girls for who they were," said Sandia Prep senior Madison Ries.
The billboards show nice pictures of the women, and also their mug shots, just in case someone recognizes the more recent photo.
“Hopefully they'll get some good solid tips that will bring closure to it all," said Dan Valdez, that father of Michelle Valdez, one of the women found buried on the West Messa.
The billboards display phone numbers so the public can call in tips.
Medical investigators are still trying to identify the other four victims.
