 Ty ToribioTy Toribio was smothered by his mother on May 15 and buried in a playground at Alvarado Park near San Mateo and Lomas.
Because Ty’s heritage is from the Zuni Pueblo, the pueblo is taking custody of his remains from the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Funeral arrangements are pending. The actual burial of the child’s body will be private but there will be a blessing of the burial site that will be open to the public.
The boy’s mother, Tiffany Toribio, was taken into custody Wednesday evening. She faces a charge of first-degree murder and several child abuse counts. She’s being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
