Missing woman's body found near Socorro
The body of a Los Lunas woman who went missing in April has been found in the area of Water Canyon in Socorro County, according to Los Lunas police.
Sandra Sanchez was last seen shopping at a Walgreens in Los Lunas. Her vehicle was found Tuesday in Albuquerque.
A search warrant was served on the woman's ex-boyfriend Tuesday. Officers seized the man's vehicle to search for evidence. They are calling him a person of interest in the case.
Her decomposed body was found in the area of the canyon late Saturday night. State Police and Los Lunas Police worked throughout the night and through the day Sunday processing the scene and searching for evidence.
Sanchez's death has been ruled a homicide and her body has been taken to Albuquerque for an autopsy, Los Lunas police say.
