12507Scientists at Kirtland Air Force Base are trying to develop a way to rapidly build and deploy satellites to space.

They plan to build a satellite from scratch and sent it into orbit in just six days. Researchers say those tasks usually take five to 15 years to accomplish.

The project was developed by the Air Force to replace government satellites damaged by natural causes, like solar flares, or military action.
