The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m. for parts of eastern New Mexico.
Storms in the area are capable of producing hail and wind gusts to 70 mph, along with dangerous lightning.
Counties included in the watch area are Eddy, and Lea Counties.
Most of the eastern part of the state was covered by a severe thunderstorm watch earlier in the day.
Earlier tornado warnings were issued for south-central Mora and north-central San Miguel Counties as well as northeastern Torrance, northwestern Guadalupe and southwestern San Miguel County.
