4 dead in NM highway accidents

VAUGHN, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico state police say four motorists have been killed in traffic accidents on New Mexico highways.

State police say two men died Thursday after a semitrailer pulling two trailers tipped over on U.S. 285 south of Vaughn and a driver hit the truck.

The semi's driver died at the scene and the driver of the car died at a Roswell hospital. Police are withholding their names until their relatives are notified.

Isabel Lomeli, 53, of Dexter died Thursday in a separate single-vehicle accident on N.M. 249 near Hagerman after her car left the roadway.

State police say a Texas woman riding a motorcycle died Wednesday after hitting a guardrail on U.S. 70 in Lincoln County.

Barbara Wilson, 42, of Midland died at a Roswell hospital.
