Fugitive of the Week: Dion Lopez

The United States Marshals Service and its Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force (SWIFT) are currently seeking the whereabouts of Dion Jay LOPEZ, in reference to an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the United States District Court for Violations of Supervised Release.
LOPEZ was convicted of Homicide in September of 1999 and served 9 1/2 years in Federal Prison. Since LOPEZ’s release from prison, he has been convicted of violating his probation on 3 separate occasions. LOPEZ violated his probation a 4th time on October 10, 2009 when he absconded from a court ordered treatment program in Rio Arriba County.
LOPEZ is described as a 29 year-old Native American Male, 5’10”, approximately 180lbs with black hair and brown eyes. LOPEZ has a tattoo of a bear claw on his right shoulder, and a tattoo of a letter “T” inside of a circle on his left shoulder. LOPEZ has family ties to the Farmington area and may be hiding out on the Navajo Reservation near Shiprock, NM.
