NM police investigate death of Espanola man

ESPANOLA, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police are investigating the shooting death of a 56-year-old man in a public housing development in Espanola.

Police say Anthony Garcia was at a gathering off McCurdy Road when a dispute broke out and shots were fired.

Garcia was taken to the Espanola Valley Medical Center after the shooting Saturday afternoon and pronounced dead on arrival. Authorities say he suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

State police said an arrest was pending on Sunday.
