SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Gov. Bill Richardson will be in Las Cruces and Albuquerque on Wednesday to hear from residents about the bills passed by state lawmakers during a recent special session to deal with the state's budget problems.

The governor has until Nov. 12 to sign or veto the bills.

Richardson will grant five-minute meetings to residents who would like to discuss the proposed budget cuts.

The governor's office says meetings will be held on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign-up will begin at 9 a.m. in Las Cruces and at 1 p.m. in Albuquerque.
