FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Two vehicles collided on a highway just outside Farmington, killing one man and leaving two others in a coma.

Department of Public Safety Lt. Eric Garcia said Sunday that 24-year-old Razahn Lamone of Ojo Encino drove onto U.S. Route 550 without yielding to highway traffic on Friday afternoon.

A Dodge pickup truck hit Lamone's car, ejecting 45-year-old Norman Jordon of La Jara. Jordon was pronounced dead at the scene. Lamone and the other man in the car, Darrel Joe, were in a coma at San Juan Regional Medical Center. One other person in the car and the two people in the truck were treated and released.

Garcia says Lamone and his friends were on a beer run and had already been drinking that morning. He says alcohol, failure to wear seat beats and failing to yield the right of way are contributing factors in the crash.
