One of the two men accused of killing an Albuquerque woman, dumping her body in a pit and lighting it on fire has been charged by a grand jury for his role in the homicide.

Christopher Midyette, 20, and Ryan Vigil, 19, were charged with killing 20-year-old Brittni Carlini, who was reported missing in early November. The Bernalillo District Attorney's office says that Midyette has been indicted by the grand jury on charges of tampering with evidence and conspiracy to tamper with evidence, both felonies.

His co-defendant, Ryan Vigil, committed suicide several days after his arrest on November 8.

Midyette faces up to 4 1/2 years in prison. He is beihg held on $100,000 cash-only bond.

The district attorney's office says it has found no evidence to directly tie Midyette to Carlini's death, although the investigation is ongoing.
