Lobo fans are calling the Thomas and Mack "The Pit West," and referring to Las Vegas, Nevada as "West Albuquerque" this weekend. Coach Steve Alford says all the fans have the team looking forward to Selection Sunday.

Passengers arriving at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas said flights were packed with fans wearing their cherry red.

Alford said, "That's gonna be a neat time for us and our program and the fans are the ones that make it happen. You can open it up for Selection Sunday but if nobody comes you kinda look silly. With our fans, they just wanna know where and what time, they really don't care who it is you're playing, just tell me where and tell me what time."
