Jason Stiff

Jason Stiff became Eyewitness News 4's Chief Meteorologist in August 2010.  Jason has loved the weather since he was young, and couldn't be happier about forecasting New Mexico's weather every weeknight at KOB.  He considers forecasting the weather an important, exciting, and fun responsibility.

Jason has called the Land of Enchantment home since 2004.  He loved living and working in New Mexico so much that he chose to stay in Albuquerque after working several years at another station in the market.

Before moving to New Mexico, Jason was Chief Meteorologist at KNDO/KNDU in Kennewick, Washington.  Prior to that, he worked at KIFI in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and KUTV in Salt Lake City.  Jason earned the prestigious designation of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) in 2005, and the first AMS Seal of Approval in 1998.

He earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in meteorology from the University of Utah.  As an undergraduate, he also worked for the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City.

When he isn't busy forecasting the weather, Jason loves to watch and play sports (especially golf and football). He's also a big fan of movies, music, and staying in shape. If it's a clear night, you might even catch him looking up at the sky, but not in search of storms; rather, the stars and planets. Astronomy ranks close behind meteorology in Jason's book.
