SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Former Congresswoman Heather Wilson has raised more than a half million dollars this summer for her campaign for the Republican nomination in New Mexico's open U.S. Senate race.
Wilson's fundraising outpaced GOP Lt. Gov. John Sanchez, who collected about $161,000 in net contributions from July through September.
Wilson raised $532,000.
Democratic Congressman Martin Heinrich reported contributions of almost $652,000 during the quarter.
The Senate seat is open next year because Democratic incumbent Jeff Bingaman is retiring.
Heinrich reported a cash balance of $1.1 million in his campaign account at the end of last month.
Wilson had cash-on-hand of nearly $953,000 and Sanchez had a balance of nearly $249,000.
Republican Greg Sowards and Democratic State Auditor Hector Balderas have not yet released their quarterly fundraising totals.
