Veterans will be honored at the Roundhouse on Monday as part of Veteran/Military Day at the Legislature.

Gov. Susana Martinez will speak during a ceremony at noon and members of the armed forces will get a chance to meet with lawmakers.

At the ceremony, the Governor will thank New Mexico’s veterans and active duty military members for their bravery, service, and sacrifice.

She will also discuss legislative proposals that will support New Mexico’s veterans, including a $1,000 tax credit for employers who hire veterans returning home from deployment, a bill that will allow for expanded benefits for members of the National Guard and Reserve units, and a 25 percent personal income tax exemption for veterans’ pensions.
