LOS ANGELES (AP) - Austin House pitched seven shutout innings and DJ Peterson homered to lead New Mexico to a 4-0 victory over San Diego in the opening game of the Los Angeles Regional on Friday.

House (8-5) struck out five and gave up six hits as the Lobos won their 10th straight game.

Michael Wagner (5-2) took the loss for the Toreros (40-16).

Peterson, the fourth-leading hitter in the nation with a .418 batting average, had four hits.

His 17th homer of the season in the ninth inning upped the lead for the Lobos (37-22) to 4-0.

Hobie McClain relieved House with one on and no outs in the eighth.

He gave up a single to the first batter he faced and then retired the Toreros' 3-4-5 hitters to get out of the inning.

He earned his third save.

The Toreros left nine runners on and were shut out for the fourth time.

The Lobos will face UCLA on Saturday at 8 p.m.
